Cherry’s Provides a Safer and More Efficient Pallet Inverter Solution

Custom Inverter Solution

One of the customers Cherry’s Industrial has had the opportunity to serve is a nationwide and international manufacturer and distributor of a broad range of automotive tires. The company regularly receives Goodpack collapsible containers made out of steel at its Tonawanda, NY production facility. The containers are filled with blocks of raw rubber that are extremely heavy and dense as required for the tire manufacturing production process.

The customer was utilizing a forklift tipping method to dump the rubber blocks onto the floor of the facility. This process presented a variety of injury hazards for workers in addition to inefficient labor. Workers spent a significant amount of time manually cleaning up the spilled blocks of rubber and debris, which increased the possibility of back, knee and shoulder injuries.

Delivering the Inverter Benefits The Customer Required

The client reached out to Cherry’s Industrial Equipment for a custom inverter solution to eliminate product waste, dangerous job site conditions and speed up their processes. The Cherry’s team, including engineering, worked closely with them to design an inverter that completely solved its material handling challenges. Cherry’s provided a solution that captures the stacking bolts already integrated into the Goodpack re-useable collapsible steel containers, and inverts them in a controlled and safe manner.

With this custom solution, the blocks of rubber remain stacked and in an accessible position for use in tire production. Cleaning up, collecting and re-stacking the rubber blocks is no longer required, so employees can concentrate on more productive tasks. Additional inverter benefits include a cleaner facility environment, reduced manual labor and reduced risk of injury.
