Why would I consider a Pallet Tunnel as opposed to using a wall to square up pallets?

A Pallet Tunnel is designed to square up pallets using a fork lift truck. Prior to squaring up pallets the Pallet Tunnel is anchored to the floor so that it remains stable. When a fork lift truck begins to compress a stack of pallets into the wedge of the pallet tunnel the pallets begin to square up until finally they are squared on all four sides.

Another way pallets have been squared up is using a wall or column. A fork lift truck compresses a stack of pallets against the wall, then comes out and around to one of the adjacent sides and lifts the same stack of pallets to then compress it against the wall or column so that ultimately all 4 sides are squared up. This is clearly another way it has been done.

There is so much that can be stated here regarding the method just described but to keep it succinct a forklift truck on average weighs around 6,000 lbs or more. Imagine the possibility of a fork lift driver not slowing down or stopping as it approaches a wall or even a column. It is very important to understand that safety needs to be the number one priority in a warehouse setting. The possibility of damage to load bearing walls or pallet rack columns cannot be overstated. For this reason we highly recommend steering clear from such potential hazards and invest in products that bring safety and efficiency to your overall warehouse operations. The pallet tunnel when anchored to the floor makes for an easy method to square up pallets with one compression. As the stack of crooked pallets gets compressed into the wedge of the pallet tunnel the pallets line up from side to side and as the fork lift truck continues forward the stack of pallets compresses against the back wall of the pallet tunnel and lines up from front to back. This is both a safe and efficient means for squaring up pallets.
